IMG_1073

Welcome to the final day of the  TombowUSA  and Precious Remembrance Shop  Blog Hop! If you’re here from the Tombow Blog, then you’re in the right place!

IMG_1071

I used the Coffee Love Stamp Set from the Precious Remembrance Shop and some cardstock from DCWV Sunshine Stack. This is a very simple holder designed for those yummy instant iced coffee packages. I see me using the coffee cup stamp a lot! I used Xtreme Adhesive to fold the paper and create the pouch. The Dot Adhesive runner for the paper panels and Foam Tabs to lift up the lid and center of the coffee cup. To apply the trim, add a line of Mono Multi Liquid Glue, and let it dry clear. It will be super sticky and will hold the trim firmly in place. A green Dual Brush Pen colored the small motif accents.

I used the Oh So Fun Stamp Set from the Precious Remembrance Shop and some cardstock from DCWV Sunshine Stack. I loved the cute jar stamps that were stamped out and colored with the #312 Dual Brush Pen – the perfect jar color! I used the Dot Adhesive runner for all the paper panels and Foam Tabs to lift up the flowers and ‘celebrate’ panel. The flowers were made by gluing a flat clear marble onto a punched out flower with Mono Multi Liquid Glue. I also added a little silver bullion wire into the jar for extra bling! A black Dual Brush Pen added the flower stems for the finishing touch.

Blog Hop with Ellen from Chilly Dog! July 25, 2014

Filed under: Cards,Dual Brush Pens,Tombow,Tombow Adhesives,Tombow Dual Brush Pen — mariebrowning @ 10:00 am

Another great blog Hop with a talented designer, Ellen from Chilly Dog! You can also win a fantastic Tombow prize for playing along! If you have come from Jennie’s Blog, you are on the right track! If not, you will want to start at the Tombow Blog! For this post I’m showing you how to draw a simple “Doodle Cat” that you can color using the Dual Brush Pen Bright Set! This is easy enough for the children to do, so give it a try!

IMG_1830

Using the MONO Twin Permanent Marker, use the broad tip to draw the first two steps. Then with the fine tip, add the details. Keep the doodles to decorate the cat simple and large. Vary your cat to be large or small, fat or skinny! This pen NEVER bleeds into the Dual Brush Pens making it the perfect tool for drawing!

IMG_0880

Color your cats with the Dual Brush Pens using the indirect coloring method. This method uses the Colorless Blending Pen and Blending Palette from the Blending KitThis coloring method gives the cats a nice graduated basecoat. Fill in the doodled details using the Brush markers at full strength for maximum color!

IMG_0880

If you look closely, you can see the white whiskers, created by drawing them on with the Glue Pen before adding the colors. I also used the Glue Pen to add transparent fine glitter to the details.

IMG_0879IMG_0878

Here are two more card ideas done with the “Doodle Cat” design. This time, I glued on googly eyes using the Glue Pen. Have fun with this simple drawing project creating fun cards or bright framable drawings!

Custom Colored Blossoms April 14, 2014

Here’s a hint to make beautiful custom colored blossoms for your paper arts and mixed media creations using the Dual Brush Pens!

IMG_3031Start with a white paper flower, any size or shape. When I do this technique I usually do a bunch with lots of different colors so I have them ready made whenever I need them.

IMG_3032Add the color to the blossoms. You do not need to color solid, just add a few lines and have fun combining different shades.

IMG_3033With a mister, spray the blossom with water, or for a sparkling blossom, use a gold or silver glitter mist. Let the blossom dry completely.

IMG_3034When dry, layer different sized blossoms and a fun decorative center using the Mono Multi Liquid Glue.IMG_5872 IMG_5860 IMG_5861 Welcome spring flowers!

Blog Hop with Art Glitter November 4, 2013

The fabulous Tombow Design Team is blog hopping this week with Art Glitter. If you want a chance to win a prize, go back to Tombow’s Blog and follow the projects!

IMG_2071
I am going to show you a wonderful technique done with peel-off’s from Elizabeth Craft Design, Ultra Fine clear or white Glitter from Art Glitter and the Dual Brush Pens from Tombow. To start, cut a piece of double-sided adhesive sheet (from Elizabeth Craft Design), remove the backing sheet and place adhesive on a sheet of white cardstock. Remove the top sheet (save) and you now have a piece of white cardstock with a very sticky field of adhesive. With a piercer, remove the peel-off design and place onto the adhesive. Do not touch! Use the saved top sheet to burnish down the peel-off

IMG_2073

Next, sprinkle the Ultra Fine glitter onto the sheet and burnish in with your finger. Tap off and reclaim the excess glitter.

IMG_2075Color the motifs using the Dual Brush Pens. They stay wet for a while so you can easily blend the colors using the colorless blender. I used the following colors for these ornament motifs: 815, 725, 703, 277, 245, 173 and 993. To shade and create the rich colors I blended the dark pink into the green and the dark green into the pinks. Don’t worry, the glitter will not come off onto your pen nib!

IMG_2076

A little more sparkle is added using MONO Multi Liquid Glue and rhinestones. Let the coloring and glue dry.

IMG_2078

Cut out all the motifs as close as you can to the peel-off motif.

IMG_2082

Here’s the finished card. It’s hard to see in a photograph how beautiful and sparkling the ornaments are! The Ultra Fine Glitter is the secret for success. Peel-off hanging threads and a holiday sentiment is added as well as little gold bows attached with Power Tabs cut into quarters.

IMG_2083

Here’s a close-up of the finished glittered and colored ornament. They contrast nicely on a distressed dark green Kraft-Core paper from Core’dinations.

Now remember to comment on every post to be able to win  set of Jewel Dual Brush Pens and two Art Glitter sets!

It’s not too early to start on your Christmas cards. This card was stamped and colored with the Dual Brush Pens using a simple direct blending method. I also added a little gold glitter on the bird with glitter glue. The cardstock panels was adhered to the white card blank with the Permanent Adhesive Stamp Runner, and the sentiment panel was then popped up with Foam Tabs.

IMG_2059

The cute bird stamp is from Stampendous, the paper from Fancy Pants and the Dual Brush Pen colors used were 942 Tan, 992 Sand, 761 Carnation, 772 Blush, 873 Coral, 243 Mint and 553 Mist purple.

IMG_1959

Isn’t this a great background? It was done with the blending palette, mister and green Dual Brush Pens using the splash technique. I then did a direct-to-stamp inking with blue hued Dual Brush Pens onto a cracked background stamp. The secret? It was done on glossy photo paper! (Thanks Rick for the idea!) If you want to learn more about this and many other techniques using the Dual Brush Pens, check out my new class Viva la Vivid Cards at My Creative Classroom.

IMG_1933This is the card I made with the background. The lizard was done in the same manner, direct-to-stamp coloring, misted and then stamped on glossy photo paper. Looks even better in real life! The dark blue cardstock panel was adhered to the background with the Permanent Adhesive Stamp Runner, the perfect adhesive for an excellent bond to glossy paper! The lizard panel was then popped up with Foam Tabs and paper leaves glued in with Mono Multi Liquid Glue.
