Blog Hop with Core’dinations December 5, 2013

Tombow is blog hopping this week with Core’dinations with some fun ideas and great prizes! If you just came from Kate’s Blog you are on the right track! If not, and you want a chance to win a prize, go back to Tombow’s Blog and follow the projects!

IMG_2358I made some cute little gift tags that show the beauty of the distressing on the Core’dinations Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Shattered Collection. The birds were die cut from three colors of the cardstock and then pieced back together using the Dot Stamp Runner Adhesive. The dot adhesive is perfect to layer the tiny pieces together to make sure they hold while distressing. When using the Dot adhesive on small die cuts, the adhesive automatically applies to the die cut surface for perfect adhesion and no messy excess glue.

IMG_2361After the bird is put together, it is distressed with the Core’dination Sand-it Kit. The tag also uses the Kraft-Core Shattered cardstock and after the panels are adhered on and the rounded corners punched out, it is also sanded to reveal the kraft core. Here is a close-up of the tag, isn’t it cute? They will go perfectly with the Kraft wrapping paper I’m planning to use this year.

IMG_2363I used the Foam Tabs to give the bird a little dimension on the tag. The bird die cut that I used is from Elizabeth Craft Designs, but the technique would work on a variety of holiday themed die cuts.

Bragging Wallet August 19, 2013

Thanks for joining us on the blog hop! If you have come here from Jennie’s blog you are on the right track! Here’s a small photo wallet I created to keep in my purse. For the cover, I layered graduated sizes of ColorCore cardstock from Core’dinations together using MONO Multi Liquid Glue. I loved how the colors created a pretty ombre effect and the multiple layers made a strong, practical cover to protect the photos. I used the Sanding Set to distress the papers and the button. The metal photo corners are attached with the MONO Multi Liquid Glue and the button is held on with a Power Tabs.

IMG_1735The concertina pages used the same colors for the panels and were attached using the Dots Adhesive Stamp Runner. The Dots Adhesive was also used to adhere the photos of cute little Lucy into the book. My new granddaughter – the reason for the brag book!

IMG_1737To hold the wallet closed, I used Fastener Tabs. They offer a low profile when working with paper and are very strong. The hook and loop type fastener can be opened and closed over and over again for many show-off sessions!

Tombow and Core’dinations Blog Hop! August 15, 2013

IMG_1728

I hope you are ready from some Fun Ideas and Great Prizes this week from Tombow and Core’dinations! If you’re here from Kate’s Blog, then you’re in the right place,  if not then you may want to start at the beginning.  For my project today I decorated  a kraft bag in a Turquoise and Rust color combination.

IMG_1729I used a rust colored tag from the dark Core Tags set, distressed it with the Sand It tools and decorated with die cuts from Memory Box. Before placing the paper into the die cutter, simply sand it to create the distressing and to reveal the kraft colored core.

IMG_1730Here’s a close up of the die cut decorating the panel on the front of the bag. I ran both the distressed rust and turquoise Kraft-Core  paper through the die cutter and put the pieces together using the MONO Glue Pen. The Glue Pen is perfect for when you need pin-point application! It was easy to slightly askew the blossoms to form a shadow effect and to add the rhinestones exactly where I wanted them. For attaching the branch to the panel, the Dot Adhesive Stamp Runner enabled me to add this finely cut detail cleanly and securely!
